Developer: Silicon Knights
Publisher: Nintendo
"Eternal Darkness shunned the awkward [Resident Evil]-style control, instead going for a more action-oriented approach. (You need that fluidity, too, as the game throws some frenetic combat your way.) And when it's not assaulting you with its spooky minions, the title is inside your head like a hungry earwig -- driving you nuts with its insane mind games. You walk into a room, and find that your head isn't where you saw it last. Or, you're battling a fearsome boss, and the screen says your controller has been unplugged. These memorable moments are courtesy of Eternal Darkness' Sanity Meter, which takes every opportunity to screw with you. . . It's the kind of mental assault that would make Metal Gear's Hideo Kojima proud. - GameSpy
