"Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Sega Genesis reigns supreme over the Sega gaming universe. The split-screen two-player mode was a nice new addition, even though that meant someone had to play the annoying Tails the "I Wanna Be Sonic" fox. As expected, the sound and graphics, especially the 3-D bonus stages, outpaced the original Sonic game.
