"Arguably the ultimate in open-world, open-ended gaming: you have so much freedom it's almost overwhelming. You could be a crusading warrior, engaging in the main quest to defeat an evil cult opening hellish portals around the fantasy land of Tamriel; simply ignore all that and focus on becoming the head of the assassins' guild; just wander around looting dungeons for as long as you like; or wander around picking mushrooms - it's entirely up to you. Sure, the combat's a little unengaging and the NPCs are uniformly creaky (the same five actors voice the world's entire population), but the landscapes are gobsmackingly gorgeous and the overall experience is incredibly satisfying." - Empire
