Final Fantasy IV
Year: 1991
Platform(s): Super Nintendo
Designer(s): Hironobu Sakaguchi
Developer: Square
Publisher: Square
"It had a thick narrative with a large cast of characters, each with their own unique personalities and motivations. It also had a truly nasty villain, Golbez, that players just loved to hate. All of this was all underscored by an amazing soundtrack by Nobutsu Uematsu, and the SNES finally provided hardware worthy of his talents. While Final Fantasy [IV] might not have been a radical departure, it showed us what "epic" truly meant." - IGN
