"Dig Dug isn't a complex game. In fact, the aim of the game is pretty simple: Destroy your underground enemies by either blowing them up with a handy-dandy bike pump or dropping a boulder on them. From this simple premise, one of arcadedom's most enduring hits was born. Battling Pookas and Frygars in the tight confines of self-dug underground tunnels was a challenge, so many players figured out tricks (like running through half-inflated enemies or firing the bike pump through thin walls) in an effort to stay alive longer. Although Dig Dug has made appearances on dozens of platforms via download or arcade collections, this is one case in which the arcade version is undoubtedly the definitive one." - GameSpy
